I need a good graphics card.

SD45T-2

Going back in time...
Finally getting a new system now. Does anyone know of a good card that will eat Trainz for Breakfast?

I need to run highly detailed routes with High-Res textures, 3D track, and 50 something JR loco's. And about 200 cars.

It all depends on whether money is no object or not?
If you have bucks flowing out of your pocket like Victoria Falls then just get the biggest card on the market, heck get two of em.
If this is not the case then let us know what your wallet contains and we'll shop around to match it's weight. ;)

Deano,
Does trainz support/use 2 cards in SLI mode, just wondering if things have changed?

Not as far as I know, but I only know what is written on these forums. I have my two Nvidia cards running in SLI mode and Trainz runs perfectly.

Oh right, I don't think your going to get one that will eat Trainz for breakfast with $100 or less but I too would go with a Nv GTS 450. If you get lucky you should find a 460.

Tigerdirect has a GT250 for $50, a 450 for $60, and a 550Ti for a hair over $100, all on rebate. If you're not a rebate shopper, I understand, but TD is pretty reliable in that respect, if that helps.

First let me state that I am satisfied with my GT220 though I am considering a GTX550 just incase I would ever want to play the latests FPS games.
I sugest cough up the extra $10 - $50 for a GT550, else a 450.
Be sure you have an adequate power supply. If you are power challenged, consider a GT440.
