I just have 2 questions for you

hello to all members: I tried to make it clear as possible :)

questoin 1

as I run my 2 mile train and if it comes over a crossing grade the cars are suppose to stop after the train has past. right now I'm not makeing too much sense I will try and say it again. how can I make the cars stop at a crossing when I'm running a 2 mile long train after so many minutes the cars begin to cross the track while I'm still crossing the crossing grade. how can I tell the cars to stop after the 2 mile long train has past?

question 2

I have downloaded a switch yard kuid 30671:1000000263:1 called um switch yard ok its a layout so what I want to do is to move that layout within another layout that I built and stick the um switch yard layout under one of my layouts maybe a make it a session.

the below statement may make it a little clearer to understand what i'm trying to say.

is that possible by makeing the layout (in this case um switch yard) and sticking it under another layout that I built and called that um switch yard a session.

Question 1: I don't want to be greedy, so I'll leave this for another member of the community to answer. But siince it seems that you are running 2006, you might want to ask it in the 2006 subforum.

Question 2: The correct name for what you are seeking to accomplish, is merging two routes. It can be done, but the success of doing it will depend upon the specific routes involved, and exactly how you want to merge them.

Myself, being an 06 user ... merging route is easy ... I am wondering if you mean a double decker shelf layout (like model RR's do). Not possible (unless it is a subterranean subway route with roads above.

I don't know how to stop cars from driving through trainz, unless it is a triggered crossing, as cars and trains may not see each other (just as 2 trains can glide through each other on independent lines).

ok well 1st i'll ask does the cars stop at all? or do they just keep going thro the crossing if they not stoping then you need to move to joining points of the crossing to the road out more. if the road splines is to short from the rest of the road to the crossing the car's will stuff up & will not stop E.g.

( === Road) ( || Crossing ) ( @ Joint Spines )

( =====@=||=@==== ) cars will not stop !!

( =====@=====||=====@===== ) cars will stop 98% of the time

hope that helps :)

hello boomer-aus-00:
to answer your queation yse the cars do stop if I run a short train yes they will stop and continue after the train passes. but if run a 2 mile trains once the engines and a quarter of the train out of the 2 mile train has passed then the cars begin to cross the track which I still have another 3 quarters of train to cross the crossing grade. I wonder if I can change the time stoped at the crossing so to accomendate the 2 mile long train.

I just looked at the diagram you made and maybe if I move the splines out some that should keep the cars from takeing off too soon with a 2 mile long train.

hello mjolnir I see your point but I thought I would get a better response from here than from trs06 forums. I'll keep that in mind next time.

hello cascaderailroad:

I think I knew that answer already, I just thought maybe I can copy and paste into another layout or make that one layout into a session and then copy and paste into another section.

to all responded thanks for the replies.

I think ... IDK ... copy and paste only effectivly works on one board at a time, not multiple boards (except for textures only, perhaps).

I don't remember if TRS2006 supports copying splines, but if it does, you can copy multiple boards, but it's a pain.

You have to angle the view and use the control key and arrows to make a selection over multiple baseboards. Once they are selected, you can the choose copy. Pasting is done the normal way.

Apologies for the slightly off topic, but I was wondering what, “um switch yard”, referred to in the opening posts, is?

It brought to mind the dialogue used in the graphics bubbles over the North American tribesmen in the old 1950s western comics.

All the recent chatter about an Indian sub Forum hasn’t gone unnoticed either. Could we be moving towards a new classic western map?

Cheers
