I was playing today, and I thought I was having problems
but I think it is to the fact that I do not have my tool bar on the bottom and list of drivers up the left side
does anyone one know how to get that back,

I am on a four day trip right now, and do not have the manual, and I did not see anything about it on the online manual

Thanks

Have you pressed any of the "F" buttons at the top of you're keyboard, as some of these will make the toolbar vanish. I think it is F5 or F6 that makes this happen.

F6 is the key to bring up the command bar and the driver list, but it only works when you are in an external view, with keys '2', '3', and '4'. If you are in the internal/cab view with the '1' key, the bar automatically disappears until you switch back to an external view.

Of course, if you only see one driver picture in the bottom-left corner then you have to click on it to make the full list of drivers appear.

Hope that helps before your road trip is over :)

I wish it did,
It still does not work.

I would like to think that I am not that dumb, I have been around since Trainz UTC. It just acts like the key does not work, I know it does, I tested the key out in some other programs to make sure that it sees the keystroke.

I will bang my head on the wall some more and see if it fixes it

try what i do!! press everything till something works!! the funnest way to learn to use a computer game!!!!!!

In the TRS2004/settings folder there is a file call keyboard.txt - In there you should see an entry for F6 as the 'hud-driverinterface-toggle', maybe that got changed or corupted. Also there is a defaultkeyboard.txt file that can be used/copied if the main one is trashed.

Didn't realise you had been using Trainz so long, and certainly didn't mean to patronise (don't think I did either).

Anyway, just bumped into another thread where a user with the same problem. See here:
