At least no one was hurt, well maybe the cop lost some sleep, and couldn't sit very well due to the butt chewing he got!
You see, with american locomotives, they have bells and are allowed to honk their horn as much as they can if danger is spotted.
British locomotives don't. Because of 'noise pollution. American police have more balls too. They aren't afraid to crash their car in a high speed chase. Whilst our british bobbies are scared of denting their car..
Thank goodness the car and the policeman were alright.

Thanks for posting this. I remember this show when it first came out. It's funny how the trains kept taking the wyes off the track he was on. It's as though they were out to scare him to death. I too feel bad for the cop. He was doing what he was supposed to be doing, and the dirt road didn't have a crossing much to his surprise.
Chasing a silly motorcycle joyriding ... and all that damage to his car ... hugely overkill.
He was all worried about the tow truck bending his tie rod ... I bet the car already had $3000 damage once he tried to get it off the rails on the second try.
