i have trs2013. I want to try to build a hump yard. is there a trigger to turn the breaks on and off? thank you

Yup ... there are "uncouple at trackmark" triggers, and retarders ... looking for the kuids and names.

My hump yard is only a meter high, and is a +0.02 uphill shoving grade ... and a 125' long downhill grade of -0.25%, and gives a humped 5 mph uncoupled freight car, a slow, realistic downhill rolling speed of @ 20 mph
