hey guys i have a hulett ore unloader and a ship filled with ore or minerail. the ship moves to the unloaders and nothing happens the ship sits there and the huletts do nothing.
I did succeed in getting them to operate somehow, using loaded ore hoppers, and the ship ... I am not exactly sure how though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RJfnk2S330
They are one of the most strange machines, as an operator rides atop the bucket in a cab !
Hulett unloaders might be strange but they are light years ahead of what preceded them. They were called Thornberger Hoists (and yes - I'm working on one).
The Hulett unloader does not work in TS12, has a script error. It will load a train with coal or mineral (not iron ore) but will not unload a ship or mineral barge.

I'd rather not make a hulett as others already have and I don't feel its proper to duplicate others work (darn fine work at that) since I have some idea as to how much work is involved.
As for the thornberger - it depends on when I get back to it. It will use an animated clamshell bucket in addition to the rest of its animation and I know it will be a bear to animate (the clamshell alone is a challenge - lots of parts moving this way and that). Best guess at least a month minimum.
Thornbergers came into existence around the 1850's (or so). They were steam powered and almost always used in multiple settings. They were on rails and could be moved up and down the dock. They were long gone by the 20's when huletts arrived.
