..I would make a rough estimate that over the last 4 years I've spent over $1000 US on books and videos for this project. It's still cheaper than an HO layout though...not to mention trying to fit an HO scale layout of the Hudson River in your basement..

I had thought about that once. Figure I could fit the line between Poughkeepsie, And one other stop... Then It'd have to loop around. ;)

Route is looking good! And I can't wait to explore it in the soon-to-be RS-1's...

And prepare your self for a critique.... I do live here after all.

Cheers

Man, I must say. You have done a magnificent job. Not to be rude or anything but can you tell me, how many hours do you build or edit this route in a week. I am trying to do my projects little by little so it won't interfere with other things. I am so angry because all my work from Grand Central terminal-yankee stadium is lost somewhere. I also had the oakpoint freight line. I am right now learning on how to get it back and learning about archiving and database repairs. I have been working on a little side project though. I am making the metro north from University heights- poughkepsie. Even though my major project is lost somewhere, this wont stop me from building the whole metro north railroad.:) . I heard there are a couple of ways to get lost routes back into surveyor. If I pass my 4 regents in mid june, I can finally get some payware locomotives and content. Mabe even a new version of trainz. Sorry for this lone response but this are just makes me so curious and happy.

Of course, it varies. Some weeks I don't do anything with it. Others...I'll get on a roll and spend a few hours. I started on this route 4 years ago but took an 8 month break at one point from all things Trainz. When I returned, things that had been frustrating me (like modelling the nuclear power plant and Peekskill) started going smoothly and have ever since. :) I think the real secret is to relax, have fun, and not get impatient.

Fred

They were a special gift from Magicland for Gold Members of ProTrainz and, alas, are no longer available.

Aww man, I like those grand coaches. Right now, I am just importing things from trainz 2006 to trainz classics. Probably do 1 or 2 baseboards a day

Great shot Fred! The scene looks great! I can see a lot of detail there and I respect your efforts as I know how taxing it is to detail scenes at that level.

Keep up the great work!

Nice. About how far north do you think you will go north. I don't mean to change the subject but I have one question in regards to the gp40's and the other emd geeps. I am using trainz classics and the VMD locomotive sounds are so loud. IN trainz 2009 are the VMD locomotive sounds quiter like in trainz 2006. I have that same CSX locomotive in the post you posted today for trainz 2006 and classics and the engine is really loud in classics.
