How well will this run 2010?

So I just bought my little brother his first premium PC, and I want to know how well it will run TS2010.
AMD Phenom II X6 (I'm an Intel guy, so I don't know much about this)
6 MB Cache
2.6 GHz
8 GB DDR3
1 TB Hard drive
ATI Radeon 5750 1GB GFX Card
Running Windows 7 Home Premium

It might struggle a bit, depends on how detailed any layouts are that you want to run.
There are routes that would cripple the computers at NASA

Other than Windows 7 I'd say you have a pretty good machine there. Dunno if it's too late to return the OS, but I'd go with XP, personally, for better performance. But if you did want to stick with W7 I would have gotten the 64-bit flavor as TS2010 can supposedly make some limited use of 64-bit capabilities.

I run a much lower-spec system - really, minimum spec, but I do have 4Gb memory now, and it runs pretty nice. XP makes a difference, but also tweaking the OS.

With multi-core support being much better with Windows 7 compared to Windows XP how would XP perform better?
