hi all

is there a way that i can print out all my trackmarks in the way that they are placed on the route from one end to the other?

at the moment i'm writing them out by hand.

thanks
ron

I haven't tried it but the ScanTrack rule (kuid2:117746:6:1) looks very hopeful. It's on DLS.

Looked at TrainzMap? (although, sadly this utility only works with the older Trainz programs: UTC, TRS2004 & 06 :( )

Can the ScanTrack rule mentioned above generate a TSO file?

hi all

sorry about the delay
but i had a small drama to fix

i have tried both trainzmap and scantrack

but neither of them will print me out a list that shows the way the trackmarks are actually placed

does anybody else have an idea?

thanks
ron

HUH? TrainzMap prints maps showing exactly where trackmarks, triggers, signals, junctions etc etc are all placed. What exactly is it you're after, caz if wanted a list of trackmarks, ScanTrack shows that, if wanted a print out of where trackmarks are placed on a route, TrainzMap does that.

hi wolfie

scantrack will show me a list of trackmarks in a scrollable smaller field box,
but it will not show them to me in the order that they are from one end to the other.
it will only show them to me in aplhabetical order.

its getting too hard to keep typing them out.
just takes too long and my eyes get too sore

thanks for trying to help
cheers

Would it be possible to rename them adding a numerical prefix to each so the alphabetical order would also be the track order?

John

hi john
i had thougth of doing that, but there are way too many.
it's a big route and i need the place names so that i can find them easily

at one time i managed to do it,
but that was long ago and i forgot how,
thats why i asked

thanks

See, I don't get that, TrainzMap produces 2D maps of track layouts, not scrollable lists. Sure, you could select Utilities -> Marker List, but the idea is to print out the map layout. Check that View -> Show Markers is ticked, along with whatever other objects you want to print (ie, signals, points etc).

Here's an example to show what I mean:

In TRS2004 it would be possible to write a scenario which displays the trackmarks in track order in a mini-browser window. However, GameScript cannot output to files. I don't know if it would be possible to use CTRL/C to copy the list.

Given sufficient knowledge, it would be possible to write a rule for use in any version of Trainz from TRS2004 onwards which did the same thing.

So it might be worth asking in the scripting section if anyone could do this for you - or alternatively learning how to do it yourself, but if you're not a programmer there's a lot to learn.

hi mate
i'm not a programmer

my eyes and my brains aint good enough for that anymore

i sorta got a trackmark list in alpha order

i copied it from the config file and then saved it to pdf, then split it into a single in open office, then took away all the other names.

very time comsuming to do it this way though.

and i still have to go through and list them by hand in the track order

i'll try that control/c and let you know
thanks for the help

Obviously, you'd need to set a scale approriate to the route being printed, and checking that the Markers are being shown etc, assumed that would be clear. Still have no clue what precisely you're after, TrainzMap looks to me to be exactly what you need from what you've described so far, but anyway, I can't help you any further.

Simple... he wants a text print out of Trackmarks in Alphabetical order. I'd love to be able to print out driver schedules...

hi Accipiter777

that exactly what i want

at the moment its very time consuming to write them out in their order by hand

the same as the drivers orders

with 15 AI running at the same time i need this to figure out where they go past next.

i needed stacks of trackmarks to overcome the AI stupidity of taking the shortest route, even against direction markers

cheers

Timetable

Seems like you are putting the cart before the horse. When I create a route, I plan a timetable on a spreadsheet, then run the individual trains to see if they maintain the times I predicted. If not, I tweek the times on the spreadsheet. I then print it out and use it when running a session. I highlite the meets on the spreadsheet so they stand out. Makes operations a lot more fun.

You can download the timetable in the users manual for my latest route at Huron Central Manual

hi dap

thats all well and good.
i have a timetable that i can use

but i still cant print out the list in the order they are in
thanks
