how to lay multiple parallel tracks at one time

Was wondering how to lay multiple parallel tacks at one time. Having lots of trouble laying closely spaced multi track yards with the tracks automatically sliding into one another. Isnt there a tool to do multitrack? Is there anything like a pack to download or purchase that will accomplish this? Would love to see 4-6 tracks at a time. Any help appreciated.

There are some older multi-track splines out there, but it's an unsupported system these days & can cause other problems.

Hold shift when placing track to keep it from snapping to a nearby spline point.
There are multi-track fixt-track assets that you can place down to help align your tracks to it.
In Surveyor 2.0, you can hold control and move a selection of track to copy it.

Also in Trainz+ using Surveyor 2, it is possible to do a scrapbook copy of a set of parallel lines you've created to lay again whenever you paste that saved scrapbook item.
See examples of N3V's 'prefab 10 track yard' and other prebuilt track layouts that are built-in...

Hi everyone,

Dan, you can use the creations of bils (35423) or/and mookidu85100 (400722). There are 13 assets whose names all start with "TANE Trk Wood ..." and which allow to install, at one time, 2 to 10 parallel paths. This works well with TRS22/T+.
 
I have used the Surveyor 2.0 method of creating double tracked lines, and it is a big time saver. A couple of hints to do it without many problems:

Build a stretch of single track just as usual. But make sure all the spline point elevations are set to the desired fixed elevation and also perform the straighten track process as needed. You want the elevations and straightened sections to copy from the original to the clone. Also, it is best to not attach the new track to any existing track just yet. This is because you will double click to select the entire newly created track, but you don't want to go beyond the new track. Then it's just a matter of double click, control key held down, and drag with the fine adjustment tool to clone the track.

There will be some fine tuning because the track on the outside of a curve will need to be longer than the track on the inside of a curve. Just a matter of moving spline points a bit.

martinvk and bekaember have some assets on the dls to assist in the laying of parallel tracks. I don't know if this is what you are looking for.

For example the < kuid2 102376 61000 3 > or the < kuid2 70337 23094 2>.
 
One of the rare instances Trainz could borrow from the TSC route editor, where it is possible to extrude parallel track sections or indeed select a length of track and have another section put down parallel (or a lofted item such as fence or platform).
 
What's needed is a parallel spline tool. They way I see it is this tool is good for any spline.

How it should work:

Place the spline.
Click on it and highlight it.
Click in the asset properties window (assuming this is in Surveyor 2.0)

A ghosted copy of the original spline will show as a place holder object to allow us to see where the new spline will go.

Click on the offset and either type in the number or move the mouse up and down to adjust the distance (offset) from the original. A positive number will move the new spline to the right, a negative to the left.

When satisfied with the setup, click apply or hit enter to lock the new spline in place.

There's a similar "mod" in Cities Skylines that does this and it works pretty well.
 
You need to hold the shift key down, so it doesn't snap to the track next to it and then you can use to circle things at the end of the track to line up and space apart. Not sure if this is what you're looking for.
 
I use the "waygauge" objects. There are several different versions on the DLC, just search for "waygauge". These come in multiple track versions, as well a just 2-track (there are even 1-track versions!) I think there is a 6-track version, but you can snap several together to make up unlimited parallel tracks, all at perfectly even spacing.

Lay your waygauge objects where-ever there is a change from straight to curved track.
Lay spline track between the objects on the "straight" runs. There will almost inevitably be a S-curve.
Rotate your waygauge objects to reduce the S-curve to an absolute minimum.
Delete the waygauge objects.
Add spline track on the "curved" runs, between your already added "straight" tracks. It is important to add your new tracks directly to the already laid track. If you add a track nearby and then move it into position it can change the location of the spline point you are adding onto.
Apply straighten track to your "straight" stretches.
Result - a prefectly evenly spaced and parallel length of muliple track.
