How to install older build versions of TRS2019

Is there a way I can install previous versions of “TRS 2019”, I seem to have an issue with the current build hence the fact that I can’t even install it.

You can, but you would have had to have kept a backup copy of your older TS2019 install. You can no longer download pre-SP2 versions of Trainz TS2019/TRS19 from N3V anymore.

Only other option is to do as much of the route building in TANE as you can, then bring it over to the botched TRS19 SP2 for the finishing touches. The drawback is an increasing number of new assets are for TRS19 only, created no doubt in good faith when we were working in the (with hindsight) excellent SP1.

I do not intend to build any routes. But, I believe the idea of TANE as a solid developmental program is an excellent idea. It would serve to reduce new customers seeing constant messages with a subject of Trouble. The results of that are obvious. It would encourage more, and better, route and asset development if the created route, or asset, that worked in TANE. Support staff would find troubleshooting easier "if it worked in TANE".

Also, a low cost introductory, product supported with KNOWN working routes and assets would be a significant aid to attracting and maintaining customers through the evolution to TRS2021.

I just looked again at the competitive product. Visually it is impressive. Sat and watch as a modern train ran the Clinchfield route. However, it is LOCKED. No independent development. That is the N3V edge, and it must be nurtured.

I just picked up the TS2021 Clinchfield route in the Steam sale and it is superb.
The screenshots of the forthcoming TSW2 version look even better and will be a Day 1 purchase for me.

Comparison very personal

T:ANE Stable, too bright nightmode
prima for route building
TRS19 Original: Stable, better nightmode, good graphics, turfx
my favorite, best for any serious content creation
TRS19 SP1: Undo hidden, Bulk Asset Spline broken, Carz broken
okish, still workable for route building
TRS19 SP2: Spline points broken, many CTD, overthetop mainmenu, buy spam
no go for me
TRS19 SP3: reading beta threads, makes me sad, so I stopped

Glad i still have the full offline installer build 100240 (euro version)
lean mean and good for me
greetings GM

Please read this with a grain of salt, I mean no ill feelings, I do not maliciously post my thoughts, I am only venting my frustration.

I look back fondly at Trainz 2009... everything was much simpler then.

There have been countless advancements, to be sure, since those early days when I first discovered Trainz.

The graphics have improved dramatically.

And the bugs have multiplied exponentially.

I am guessing, all in the name of making the Trainz environment look and feel as real as the coders can get it to look and feel real.

To what end? If I want reality... I step outside. I come to Trainz to escape reality.

And now, the reality of Trainz is it has become so very complex and near-photo realistic.

And has become every bit as chaotic and frustrating and aggravating as reality.

Trainz is no longer a game. And I turn to reality to escape the aggravation of Trainz. Not what I signed up for. Thank you, N3V.

It no longer appears possible to download the full installer and save it, instead you get a small utility which immediately grabs the SP2 version.
I did originally have the 100240 full installer but I ended up deleting it a week or two ago when I thought I was never going to bother with TRS19 again. So now I'm stuck with the new method which will always end up going straight to SP2.

All good points folks, yet no one is listening - except those who use/play the game and don't have their heads stuck in the sand. More competition on the way later this year, so if they don't face facts, they may well loose a lot more customers. Time to fix, not create bugs IMHO.
