How to identify asset kuids on the screen in Surveyor?

"Add this sentence to your Trainz options file:-showkids . And whenever you haveselected an object the kuid is shown on your screen." I scribbled this phrase down from a forumpost, maybe incorrectly, obviously incompletely . I do remember it was in answer to a query onbeing able to identify asset kuids on the screen, while in surveyor. Now that I need that, I 've been trying to find said file inthe game (Main Menu etc.) or in the files/folders in my TS2010 folder, where I could type in thatsentence., but have found none. Couldsomeone please start me over and tell me how to accomplish the task of gettingany asset's kuid number while in surveyor? Thanks, Rebecca

Shane, I tried it, added the -showkuid in notepad, went to save changes and got an Access Denied message. I am running Trainz as an administrator. Any ideas?

Try saving it to the desktop and moving it back into the Trainz folder (it's probably User Account Control to blame).

Shane

P.S. It's -showkuids, not -showkuid.

Found in properties I didn't have "full control". Figured out how to get that, and then saw the kuid numbers still didn't show, then saw it is showkuids. Thanks all!!!!!
