I will be grateful if someone can please help me right, how do I get water into a sunken surface , I don't know what tool to use and how.

Hello

Assuming you are in TS12, you have the route open in Surveyor and you are standing directly over the hole -

Open Topology (F1 or the top tab right-hand side)

Hover over the radio buttons until you find 'Add water'

Position your mouse cursor over the hole and click with the left mouse button. Don't panic if water doesn't show. This may be because the hole isn't deep enough to show water, which is set at the 2m default.

To raise or lower the level of the water it is a simple task to just click-on the 'Adjust water height' button, position the mouse cursor back over the hole, hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse backwards and forwards until the desired height is reached.

You can set the height of the water by typing in the desired figure and then add water by using the 'Add water button'. Moving the mouse in any direction will add more and more water. It only gets a little more complicated if you overlap your water with water set at a different height, but only if you adjust the heights afterwards. This will then set the height of both lots of water to the height of the one you intended to, which is not always ideal. If you do this, DO NOT ONDO. Firstly, before you do anything else, SAVE. This may sound stupid, but it saves all your previous work should the Undo go wrong. After, Save, you can then Undo. Undo may work out OK, in which case you can continue after doing another Save.

You may wish to edit the colour of the water.

Go into Main Menu, Edit Environment.

In Environment you will see a small box, bottom right.

Click on the box and twirl the dials, which if you looked at a clock, would all be set to 7'o'clock. Remember that so that you can put them back if you wish.

I have mine set to a muddy brown colour, like the river is full of sediment after a flood - Red at 12, Green at 11 and Blue at 9

Regards, Dave

Dave,

I tried to make water but nothing happens here by me, the hole stays as it is whatever I try and do - obviously I am missing something but please tell me what ?

I want you to tell me what the height of the land is at the bottom of the hole.

Also, have a look at the hole in wireframe view. I think that button feature is somewhere at the top of the screen. Once you've clicked it, tell me what you see.

Add water ... using the mouse, scroll the water level up to the height of the baseboard grid.

Textures seem to work very well replicating water, as real water requires intermittent breaks, or dams, on a long uphill stream.

Ok. I have this hole here, pse bear in mind that I don't know what I am doing here, it is a first for me as far as the water buttons go...I have a depth of 444.72 where the land level is 472.46 ( if i rightclick with 'get height tool ) in the grid view I click but I don't see nothing happening anywhere.

OK, the default setting for the water is 2m. The bottom of your hole is 442.72 metres above the water, which means you have to lift the water height more than 1,452 feet before you even see it. Type 460m next to the 'Add Water' button and start adding water, you should be able to see it then. You can then do a final adjustment when you get to see it.
