How to get rid of the track sounds.

On a layout I did, I am using a truck and trailer to haul freight. The truck runs on an invisible track beneath a road spline. Works really great, except the sound the trailer makes is that of a train going over tracks with the usual klickydecklack. Is there a way to mask or mute that sound

You need to add this to your trainzoptions.txt file:

-disablerailjointsound

Note: If you are using TS12 SP1 or later, this file needs to be created in the UserData folder as it no longer exists by default.

Just create the file using Notepad and add in this line. Save, close, exit and run Trainz.

Hi,

There is a command in content explorer to disable track sounds. Scroll down the menu on opening, you will find 'Disable track sounds' add to main list, it will appear at the bottom then tick box Save and commit. Only affects the vehicle you have opened.

yea this will effect the entire game though. he needs to use the config tag to remove it from the trucks.

I too am unsure what "content explorer" is. May be a conflation of "content manager" and "internet explorer". Took a punt that carr refers to "content creator plus", so I opened a traincar asset using this utility but could find no field called "Disable track sounds".
NS37 mentioned a config file tag. I believe he refers to 'disable-extra-track-sounds'. If you add the following tag and value to the config files of your truck and trailer, the track sounds should be suppressed:
disable-extra-track-sounds 1
