how to find updated content in CMP

Hi, this is driving me nuts.

I have downloaded some content, and CMP says there's missing dependencies. So I view the dependencies in the list, but the dependencies say "update available", and I can't download them in CMP...it says download aborted, asset obsoleted by update.

So, my question is, how do I find the updated assets for the ones that I need? There doesn't seem to be an easy way in CMP?

Try putting the content back in the DLS and see if CMP wont fine the update.

When you bring up the little window with the list of the asset's dependencies, there should be a button that says 'View in Main List' click that and it will display its dependent assets in the CMP Asset Panel. Right click on the obsolete assets and click 'View Asset Versions' from the pop-up menu. That will bring up a list of all known asset versions on the DLS. Click 'View In Main List' again to display the versions in the Asset Panel and add the most recent version of the asset to your download helper.

You'll need to do it again each time for each of the out-of-date assets. After that download the new ones and you should be good to go.

It's still in the download station, because it wouldn't let me downloaded it when I tried. It errored out saying asset is obsoleted by an update...download aborted.

So in the CMP status, the DS icon is still highlighted, along with the update.

Is this supposed to be an automatic process, where CMP would automatically find and download an update if one exists? Maybe the update just doesn't exist anymore, and the original is forever stuck in the obsolete state?

This is TRS2006 btw, I don't see an Asset Versions option when I right click on the obsoleted asset. Is there another way to do this in TRS 2006?
