How to electrify railways?

Hello everyone!

I am trying to place a third rail onto my small route and I was wondering, what do you think is the best way to place it? You can't place a spline over a track, right?

Most third-rail items are part of the tracks themselves so you would need to use specific track types. Overhead cabling on the other hand is something you can place over existing tracks.

Yes ... Using the "Hold Shift KB key, you can lay a third rail, right over another track (or lay it off to the side, then slide it overtop of the track).

For dual gauge tracks, you can do the same thing.

Fortuately there are some great 3rd rail tracks ... I am unsure if catenary is included in any tracks on the DLS, or elsewhere ?

There are some on the "Strabgleis" tracks. Look up these (built-in in TS12 but build version 2.0, so probably availably for older versions):

Strabgleis 3,<kuid:69084:38005>
