How to do Avatars?

I noticed everyone here has avatars. I went to the FAQ and to my profile and also searched the forum. I took a look at all the avatars. Selected a loco. But I can't figure out HOW to make it my avatar.

All I've been able to find is that you can "select" one, and that you can "choose it in your profile." But my profile doesn't allow me to do that.

I realize this is a little thing. But it is the little things that drive me absolutely bonkers.

Anyway, once this is answered it will be up there for anyone to search on--though apparently everyone has figured it out but me.

Click "Edit Avatar",
Click on the button next to the avatar you want,
Click "Save Changes".

Note, you CANNOT use custom avatars, you can only use the ones that Auran supplied or supplied by the community. If you want to use your own avatar (rail related), send it to Auran at their helpdesk address (www.auran.com/helpdesk) with a link to where it is hosted. Although, I don't know if they stopped accepting avatars at the time of writing. There is somewhere where y ou can get more details on the submissions.

First click on 'User Cp' not 'Profile' - (first item in the second menu bar at the top of the Forum)

I may be wrong on this, but I seem to remember a requirement for a certain (low) numbers of posts before being able to select an avatar?

Anybody? Little help?

Wow, thanks everyone. I confess I never even considered "User CP"--I guess because it didn't make sense to me. All it ever said when I clicked on it was "There are no subscribed threads to display in this folder for this time period." Now I see the list of options to the left of that strange notice!
