how to change control mode?

when in a session, driving with 70 mph, how do i change from dcc mode to cab mode?

kickstarter county/fossilfuels IE.
i don't understand IN any way at all, that when i start an build in expert session, starting up and leaving me NO OPTION AT ALL to make my own choice and drive on cab mode, but are forced into easy dcc mode, IN AN EXPERT SESSION, WHO IN THE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT MADE UP THIS JOKE, it is not funny
(another reason why i, 2 hours after i installed this game, is already starting to hate the game)

Sessions and the routes are not created by the developer. They were created separately and included in the program as starters. The route creator, and ultimately the session writer or writers, sometimes both one in the same, determines how you can drive their default sessions. In many cases, you can go in and create your own session, or modify those that you have downloaded to change the control-type in the beginning. This is done through a rule that is enabled or disabled in the driver setup for the session. In addition to this rule, there is also the Quick Drive rule which will allow you to set your control-type on the fly among other options.

then it's not build in? i did not download or install anything separetly, so must be build in

This is correct. These routes, the ones the tutorials are based on, are built-in. You can create your own sessions, even clone a session, but you cannot edit the route its self. You might want to try cloning a session that you like and modify the driver rules to your liking.

i fail too see what is new in this game.

the graphic did not amaze me, worst game i purchased this year, sadly my hopes was so high, but they do as all other companies and focus on profit, it seems

There's actually a lot more going on here than meets your eyes. Underneath this is a totally new game engine which is 64-bit. In fact the only 64-bit rail simulator out that I am aware of. With the upcoming hot fix and later service pack to bring in more features, you'll find that the performance, stability and new features are worth the wait so don't be disappointed yet. :)

The base game, I understand, does not come with much, but if you have used the previous versions you have listed, you can do the same as before plus much, much more. I imported, then 165,000 assets. Most worked right out of the import, but there was about 5,000 that needed repairs. I deleted 2,000 of them because they were too old or broken - like missing LOD targets, and other things that made them useless.

Yes, many people feel that way too as it seemed this was a cash grab, but I think it was more of marketing saying a lot before the product was actually done. Then they ran into problems that needed more work, but had to ship anyway. I've worked in that environment, and marketing and sales people can cause all kinds of issues with this. So in the end it was definitely rushed, but as a member of the Trainz Development forum, I see a lot of good stuff happening now that should have happened before. The company is very small so many things take a lot longer than we want them to, but yeah it was rushed out. They should have delayed longer, but they may have been some contracts they signed that they were obligated to meet, otherwise there are legal issues to contend with. As outside users, we don't know all of what goes on inside. :)

ok so, if i edit a seesion, how do i add the option to pick the control mode, i try to add the control type option, but nothing happens, nevermind i worked it out

not sure what you mean, the game is not working

now, every time i start any session, i am not assigned a loco, it will not let me do anything, so can't drive any sessions
sometimes after i restart the game, to see if it fix the problem, it end up showing no content at all.

so what was the point in having it installed? other than getting me even more disappointed?

I doubt the program is broke.

Go back to the original session and that should work.

It if works it means you broke the session somehow when you edited it and you need to ensure that you have a default loco setup somewhere so setup a train on the route.

You weren't so clear what had happened other than you were going to quit...So check this stuff out and you'll see that it's like taking a watch apart.

I've been at this stuff since 2003...

well i edited one session, does that have the potential to break the rest of the sessions?

i only edited kickstarter county/fossilfuels, wich i made a copy of and deleted it after i figured out what i needed.

it feels like i purchased access to CBT

Does the session have a QuickDrive dialogue in it at all? One can change the control method on the fly there.

Kieran.

No this should not break anything else. Editing a session means you have copied it and are editing your own version. The copy will have your UID (User ID) associated with it.

What is CBT? Computer Based Training? I used to help put those together 25 years ago, but they weren't as fun as this. :D

I will help you... I have to switch computers to my desktop to run T:ANE....

I don't think so, Kieran. (Hi!)

I just opened the session for editing and got a red bug for the Quick Drive... ??? but I just downloaded pguy's stuff so maybe that's related.

EDIT:

It is included in the Fossil Fuels.

If he wants, he can simply click on the book-icon in the upper right corner and use Quick Drive to change to DCC or CAB control and change his driving choice on the fly.
