This guy has a series of videos where he starts with a HAF-X case , transfers the parts from his old PC and then gradually upgrades it a bit like the Cybermen from Doctor Who. It's cheaper than a completely new build and in the process of moving the old parts you learn how computers are assembled.
I think I'll go for it! My 6 year old iMac-mini is getting a little long in the tooth.

AMD APUs are more for the budget conscious and don't provide the best performance, however that being said there is a plethora of options available to the would-be builder! My setup for example is based on the AMD FX 6300 processor and the AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics card, two of the most budget friendly performance parts available, hence their popularity!
