how do the safetran signals work ?

I am creating the lafayette district and couldnt find the proper safetrans for an area of my map and so i used a different one instead to replace it i am trying to find an accurate one so in the meantime i am wanting to know how you set them up in general?

also i am needing to know how the safetran signal bridge gantry signals work because all i did was connect the track to the yellow circular objects on the bottom of the bridge and placed the gantry of my choice and then continued on with building my route. didnt know if this was the correct way to do this so if someone can give me some helpful information on how to set up these signals to work accurately that would be great!

The easiest/quickest method, in Surveyor, is to place a locomotive facing the signal in question, the signal should change to a yellow or green, if not place another signal beyond the first, or you have not connected the gantry correctly.
