How do I update a route already posted to the DLS?

Basically, what it says on the tin.

You post a newer version of the route. The simplest, and recommended, method is to select the route in CM then use the Create New Version option in the Content menu. This will "up-version" the route (e.g. <kuid12345:6789> will become <kuid2:12345:6789:1>. This, obviously, must be done when you start updating the route.

You cannot repost a route with the original <kuid> codes.

The old version will still remain on the DLS for those who will prefer it to your newer version (there will be some people) but anyone who has the old version will be automatically offered the new version as "Newer Version Available".

If you plan on updating a route created by someone else, make sure that you obtain the authors permission first. Also keep in mind that not all authors can be contacted as I did have an updated version of NormP's Brisbane South TRS 04 and Gold Coast TRS 04 routes merged and I cannot share or distribute the route since NormP has passed away a few years back, I did ask N3V Games if it was possible to re-release NormP's route as a tribute but unfortunately, N3V Games cannot provide that permission unless I was able to obtain permission from NormP's family. In the end, I decided to delete the updated route

Also some route builders who has uploaded some really good routes on the DLS aren't even on the forums.
