I'm guessing here that you are talking about yellow grid lines on a grey surface - if so that is the standard bare baseboard. In Surveyor mode you use the paint tools to cover the surface with whatever textures you want - grass, dirt, sand, rock, snow. The manual will contain all the details you need.

I'm not making anything just playing the game doing a route.
so in options i just turn everything off for surveyor mode?

its showing up by the tracks under power lines ect.seems to be in a certain radius I'm guessing of me.

The grid lines are part of the default ground texture. In Surveyor custom ground textures will be applied semi-transparently to create smooth transitions. The default texture of a given ground vertex will be removed once all the custom textures combined fully cover its 10 x 10 m (or 5 x 5 m) area.

 Hi Malaras

That maps has missing texture's and by the looks at it it all so has missing spline's EG the fence, looking at the white line's.

What route = map are you driveing on ? ? ?

G'day!

Your route is obviously missing a certain texture or Textures, looks like it's missing some other dependencies aswell. As stated above, what route are you driving?

Cheers! :)

Jake.

so they there permanently? i know nothing about modding or what not.

vertex ect that u just said no clue, lol.

the end part, about custom textures so if i get custom texture they will go away? not sure what your saying on that part.

northern pacific: look out pass, i just got the game so not sure how all this works lol.. sorry to be a pain. :(

The bare grey baseboards are covered with yellow crosshatch lines, spaced every 5 meters, which can't be removed. These are used to help a route designer to accurately layout a route. During the building of the route they are completelyl covered with various textures, track and scenery structures. Your picture just needs a little more texturing.

If a texture is missing, you have to Google the missing Kuid, or type in the kuid here: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php by ticking all the Trainz version boxes (taking out the < & >) and download the missing texture ... welcome to the wonderful world of Trainz with missing dependecies and errors.

Grid lines can not be turned off, but can have texture painted over them.

oh wow guess i should of did Lil more research.. :(

40$ usd game figured it would be pretty good, along with 20$ dlc.and what i seen of some one else playing it. they didn't care to explain that lol.

i see what ya mean tho game has crashed 3-4 times since ive got it.. and only been maybe 6 hours or so..

like another game i got other night i cant even play it and patch wont install =/

oh well not the first time i wasted money, probably not the last.

Thanks for your help all.

The game is pretty perfect ... it is because some assets are created as freeware, or by 3rd party creators, some of whom make typos and config file errors and mistakes. You have to correct the assets by hand ... nothing comes complete when it comes the 3rd party, and freeware creations.

Wait till you get to SP's, AntiVirus-"Program-Allowable Exception Rules", and "Run as Administrator" tweaking ... you have to have patience with the simulator ... Auran created the base "Game", and did not create the sessions, they were created by external freeware creators, and can contain errors that need fixing.

I don't think you wasted your money ... but you do need a really good laptop (as almost all laptops are not intended for gaming at all), or a pretty good desktop PC with a good video card.

You need to Open Content Manager and do a Extended Data base repair,
the map you are trying to run is builtin so i think this will help you out.

Warning : this process May take its time.

Hope this helps.

And by taking TIME ... it may be several hours ... SP's may take overnight or days, and if interupted or canceled can corrupt the intallation, requiring un-installing and re-installing Trainz ... if it takes time, seems locked up, and looks like it is doing nothing ... however the PC is coping with billions of bytes of stuff ... never interupt a process by "Cancel".

Do not download select all of the catagory filter: "ALL" that would be downloading every asset created on the entire DLS.

"My Content" lists assets and routes that you create ... and you have not created assets and routes.

It gets better ... first its the stupid games fault, then you will get very frustrated ... but someday you will figure all of it out ... and it will all make sence.

This is not "MS Flight Simulator" where everything is inclusive, tested, and plug and play.
