How do I make files work on TS12?

I have downloaded several things onto DLS to use on TS12 and none of it works except for one or two things. All of them give me the same problem.
"This asset uses an obsolete trainz-build number. Trainz-build numbers below 2.7 are no longer supported."

Is there a way to fix this and still have the same thing to use?

First up, when you download items from the DLS, ensure they are TS2012 compatible, then you should have no problems. Older content can be used in most cases following some manual fixing.
For this error, open Content Manager (CM) bring up the items with faults.
select one and right click - Edit - Open in Explorer. A new window opens, click on config.text, and another new window opens. Scroll down to trainz-build, and change the figure to 2.7 or higher (2.9 or 3.3). Save the changes, then close the pages down (both).
In CM, make sure the item is selected then commit it using CTL-M.
If there are no other faults, this will do. Warnings (yellow !) can be ignored.
Follow this with all faults with obsolete trainz-build numbers.

These are just warnings. This content will work fine in TS12. In many cases, it's just the build number that's causing the warning.

If the process doesn't work, revert the edit and you'll be no worse for the wear.

There will be cases, however, that will prevent the asset number from being changed above a certain level without really modifying the tags in the Config.txt file.

Ok, I changed the build number, but that just leads to more warnings and not working crap. Popular responses on the errors and warings:
Missing container "thumbnails"
Container "bogey" in "traincar" is obsolete
Bogey -0 is not valid
Kruid: xxxxx-xxxxxx is not valid

Actally you don't have to worry about warnings. In other words the yellow exclamation point is not a big deal. Just a warning that it may become an error later on, not now.

If they work leave them alone.

So change the build number back to the original and forget about it. As has been said, warnings are just that - warnings and can be ignored.

The things appear on the list, but I can't view them in the railyard or use them in TS12

If you edit an asset, it has to be committed back to the database so the object can be seen by the program.

Close any asset folders you have opened in Windows Explorer.

Highlight the asset you've edited. Press Ctrl+M and this will commit the asset.

Thanks for your help. I was able to fix several of the problems on one loco in a few minutes. But I still have a couple more that need fixing. Several of the loco's have errors that say
"Error: Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh."

The main loco I'm trying to get working again just to have some Frisco power also has this error:
"Error: Unable to load mesh file: 'frisco sd38_shadow\frisco sd38_shadow.pm'"

How can I fix this to were it works.
