How do I find good locomotives on the download station? I keep falling for outdated locos and maps.

I want to download some cool locomotives or maps/routes but it always ends up in me getting errors and warnings. Is this because the TANE I'm using is outdated or was the content I'm trying to download not updated by the author? I just don't wanna fuck up my Trainz.

Welcome to the forums. Please edit the swear out of your forum post. There are not only many younger folks who post here but also many elders who don't appreciate that kind of language here.

In Content Manager, you need to add additional columns so you can sort your data.
Right-click on one of the columns and click on Insert Column.
Click on each item to add the column in and repeat until all are added.
Arrange them by clicking on the column title and then drag it into position. Resize them to fit your screen by clicking on the borders and adjusting them to fit.

I arrange my columns as follows:

Type --- Status --- Name --- Build Version --- Author Name --- Asset ID --- File Size --- Modification Date --- Installation Date --- Upload Date.

With the columns added and arranged, you can now search easily for content and to make this easier create a filter.

Where the > points to Filter: Installed,
Click on the > to expand the options.

Installed will drop below with true.
Click on this Install and change that to On Download Station.

Located on the far right is a +
Click on the + to add additional options.

The first option to show will be something such as Asset KUID.
Scroll that list until you find Minimum build version
Put in 4.2

Click on the Build Version column to sort ascending (from lowest to highest).

All of these assets are available that should work in your version.

You want locomotives?
Click the Plus -sign on the right below Minimum build version.
Click on whatever text appears below on the left. (It may show Author)
Scroll that list and select Category.
On the right side of Category, scroll the list and choose Locomotive.

You can save this filter so you can use it again if you want at another time.

Hello I'm sorry for the bad word but where do I locate the columns? Are they in the filters or elsewhere? I'm new to all this, so I don't know much.

At the bottom of your original post, you'll see where you can edit it, so you can take the profanity out.

I really don't want you to get banned on your first day here! Change the 4 letter word to at least stuff

You can look at the DLS upload date on all assets, and you have a better chance of a more up to date model than older stuff (albeit its common for older stuff to be re-uploaded).
