How do I filter Content Manager by Author?

Trying to identify assets built by a particular author. The only filter applied is Author. Field starts empty and CM shows all 713025 items in the DLS. As soon as I enter ANY character into the filter field the output window returns zero results. I do note the output window has a column called Author Username.

Almost like the query is sending a request for something in the Author field but the database doesn't have such a field. Just one called Author Username...
Not that I would know. It's not like I'm a data analyst. I retired from that game...

When you say that the only filter applied is Author do you mean that you performed the following steps:-
  1. From the Filter drop down menu you selected Custom
  2. From the filter field title box on the left (which initially shows Asset KUID) you opened the drop down list and selected Author. The other two field boxes, if their data entry boxes remain empty, will have no effect on the search and can be left there or deleted (the - button on the right of each filter row).
  3. In the Author data entry field (the box to the right of the Author filter title) you typed the username of the required author (without quote marks and UPPER/lower case is not important - e.g. auran)
These steps work in my CM to list all the assets created by Auran.

And I get no results as soon as I enter a character
I have never experienced that when using CM.

What happens when you try other search filters? For example, start a Custom search and put something in the Name field - e.g. cutting

The initial filter should be set at Installed. Then from that drop down menu, choose installed _ True. Then again from drop down menu, choose author. If u want to see author filter on download station change installed - true to Installed - false. Cheers.

That is precisely what I'm doing.

And I get no results as soon as I enter a character
So thats my experience... it only returns assets for me when I type in a full and correct username.. while I am typing it returns nothing, once I've got the full username typed it brings up their assets.

You have to enter the full name of the author, to get a listing of the author's asset. The Content Manager doesn't search for authors matching a partial name.

Most databases allow for wildcard searches and I asked about this ages ago but my request fell on deaf ears as usual. This would be really helpful when searching for information in Content Manager that we don't know fully.
