How do I delete Missing Assets when I really want too?

Title relates to my problem, I'm trying to remove assets completely from a route and they are not built-in.

I actually made them missing, but Surveyor gives me the warning about deleting missing assets. I say Yes, save. Exit back to CM and they are still missing. ie, not deleted from the route.

If you are using TS12 the remove missing assets usually does not work. If it is an item that cannot be found what I have been doing is to copy a know asset that is good change the kuid to the missing one and the assetname to 'Missing' in its config.txt and import it. Then I go find the item in surveyor and remove it from the route. When done I delete the "missing" asset in CM.

They are unlocked, double checked that, never locked them in the first place. Unless, I'm missing something, the route and session locks are open.

I have a route & a session, I've never worked in a session, both are unlocked. And I'm deleting from the route.

This is the only way I know that works with HF3, however, be careful on your replacement, make sure you replace with the same "kind" & "category-class" or you might run into problems.

So, I assume that there will be a HF4 to Fix HF3, because that option is not an option. I make stuff, and if I get tired of looking at it I delete it. Then if I run into it in a route later on, I'd deep six the kuid with the delete missing assets button. That's what it's for isn't it? What does it do now? Reminds me of this guy back in the Late 70's when harddrives were the size of garbage cans. He said he was gonna have to shell out another 50 grand for a new one.

Why, I asked? Sounded fine to me, like he had a can full of angry squirls in there, with the frequent bang of a hammer. That's what they use to sound like.

Full, he replied.

How can that be, musta had a meg of storage on it? Too many deleted files was his answer.

Back then hard drives were write/read only, and write once. Deleted files were just ignored, or turned off, but they were still there. And that filled up his harddrive.

Thought we were past that.

Unfortunately there is no way currently to mass delete an item in surveyor which you no longer want on your layout. You can only mass replace using the “Replace Assets” function. This very small low poly (24 triangles) invisible marker can be used in conjunction with the “Replace Assets” function in Surveyor mode to mass replace something you no longer want on your layout but can't seem to get rid of because there are too many of them to just manually delete one at a time. This method will work with any content item shown in the Objects Tab (Object mode only) in Surveyor. This method will not work with splines.

It's really kinda nice you can go around and repalce unwanted assets with this, when they fix what they broke with SP1, you can then delete this asset go into the route and then do the delete missing assets. Should clear them all out then.

This request has been made in the Suggestion Boxcar. N3V seems interested too in it. Yay!

I'll have to look for this asset.

If an item really is missing, ie not in the database at all, possibly it is a non-DLS scenery object that you haven't been able to locate, then it won't show up in the Objects tab, and so can't be replaced by this method.
I understand its use for finding and manually deleting many instances of an installed object, but a missing one?

The whole Dam problem stems from the, NV3 taking out this function in the first place, it makes me wonder, don't they even know how their game is used, and how people work with it? Goes back to a round Dam in a square water world. I'm pissed. And it has to go into the Suggestion Boxcar to get the functionality that was already there but removed in a service pack update.

Forgive me, but that is Gxd, Dam border line Stupid.
