How Do I Add Height To A New Section?

I downloaded a mountainous layout that I want to work on in Surveyor, but I have a problem adding new sections that are adjacent to mountainous regions. It seems that when I add a new section, it is not the same height as the mountain that it’s next to, but far below it. Is there a way to add a new section to an existing section that will be at or near the same height as the existing section?

On the Terrain Tab (F1) use the row of buttons below the dials. Place the cursor on a mountain, click the left hand button to 'Get Height'. Now place the cursor on an adjacent area of the new board (default height zero) and use the next button 'Use Height' to bring the new terrain to the same level as the old.....

Thanks for the response. I think there may be a step missing in your explanation ( or in my comprehension), because I couldn’t get it to work. However, it did point me in another direction, which is more roundabout but seems to accomplish what I want to do.

After adding the new baseboard section, I set the Radius and Sensitivity dials to Maximum. I then placed the cursor/compass on an adjacent area and clicked “Get Height”. I then clicked “Plateau” and then I clicked “Use Height”, and was able to raise the height of the new baseboard by dragging across it.

Like I said, roundabout, but it works, thanks to your input.

Yeahh . . . roundabout. Unfortunately . . . that is the ONLY way to add a new section. It always comes in at zero height.

I wish there was a dialog box to set the new "default height". It can't be that difficult to add this option . . . AURAN, please . . . for SP2 ???????? :o
