How can I upload an asset and all its dependencies in one file?

OK, I have uploaded an Amtrak repaint I did of Pikkabird's TurboTrain. I didn't realize that it doesn't automatically upload its dependecies. How can I upload it again so that all the dependencies automatically download when the train is downloaded. Do I have to upload each dependency individually? Also Anyone know if and how I can delete stuff off the DLS that I have uploaded?

You have to upload the missing dependencies, after the fact, and correct any errors in faulty config files, in "Edit In Explorer".

You go to: "Installed" in the CMP and scroll though the millions of unwanted stuff that you have downloaded, and one by one, delete the stuff you will never use...Built in stuff can not be deleted...and if you delete a route like Marias Pass all the dependencies will be deleted too.

ok, thanks, but as far as deleting i meant deleting things i uploaded to the DLS, not deleting assets from the game.

I can only speak for how it works in TRS2004 and TRS2006, but you tell Trainz what all the dependencies are by including them in the kuid-table section of the main asset's config.txt. The system works best if all those dependencies are on the DLS, since CM and other downloaders will automatically go looking for them there if a user doesn't already have them.

If the dependencies are on a 3rd-party site, then the Trainz system has no way of knowing where to go, so it becomes a tedious manual hunt for missing dependencies.

As for uploading everything in one file, you used to be able to compile a 'pack' of assets in one CDP (if they were all your own kuids). I don't know if you can still do that.

As for deleting stuff from the DLS, I don't think it's possible. The best you can do is make it obsolete by uploading another asset (using either the kuid2 numbering system or the obsolete-table in the new asset's config.txt, or both systems). Note that you should only obsolete an asset with something of the same Kind, otherwise if people have already used your older asset in a layout you could cause anomalies such as replacing a bogey with a house or something.

This is pretty basic stuff. It sounds like you need to get a Content Creator's Guide and have a good old read of it. It might save you a lot of bother in the long run.

Cheers and good luck

Well...now that I think about it, the dependencies might not be deleted...but attempting to delete a built in route and its content is not a good idea.
