How Can I Keep It Snowing In A Session?

How do I keep it snowing in a session? While in Surveyor, in the World module, I crank up the snow dial to high, and it snows magnificently, and that’s when I save the session. But when I go for a ride in Driver, it stops snowing. How can I keep it snowing in the saved session?

You need to add a rule and set it to snow. Use the "Weather" rule built in to TRS06, or something like that. The dial is just for seeing what it looks like while snowing.

If you run TRS2004 or above, you need to get hold of either "Weather Changer" KUID2: 329364:1108:2

Or "Weather Control V2"

Or
(My Favourite as you can change Time of Day, Time Change Rate and Weather) as well as choosing DCC or CAB control and whether to have lights on or off. "
Set_Driver_Conditions_Rule" KUID: 99999:696969

Forgive me, but I have no idea what either of you are talking about. Could you be a little (acutally, a lot) more specific ? Thanks.

This is now the THIRD time I've had to do this:

In servayor(?) move your mouse to the top left-hand corner, then click the button that looks like a circle with a sheet of paper in it. Click 'add' and scroll right to the bottom, then click on 'weather'. Then, click on 'weather' in the main list, and click 'edit'. The controls are very simple from there on.

Chris

Hope it helps,

Chris

To try to go back to being a bit more basic than Whistlegead, "Session Rules" are assets that make Trainz do something through scripting. Some "Rules" are already built into Trainz (so if you do as Whistlehead suggested in Surveyor, you will see a list of Auran's already programmed rules. You can then add whatever you fancy.

Some "rules" need to be downloaded from the DLS, and some "rules" are written to allow other assets to work. (For example - "Clock Rule" allows certain station clocks to display the correct time as you drive along and pull into the platforms! "Whistle Rule" allows the locomotive to sound a piercing shriek or two-tone horn as it passes some Whistle track signs or Sound Horn railroad signs!)

The "Weather" rule has been superceded by the rules I mentioned which give more control and allow for weather changes during the session.

Trainz is one big learning curve and "Rules" give you so much more control and add features and fun! My advice to you - Experiment, Experiment, Experiment!

Thanks, guys. It worked. That is a powerful feature of Trainz. It has great potential, and should be better explained than it currently is in the Manual.

I'm glad it worked for you! Trainz is continually evolving and is improving all the time. For the Manual to be re-written every time there's an enhancement would be asking a lot!

We have to be grateful Auran continues to Researh and Develop - Microsoft gave up on Train Simulator about 18 months and just one Service Pack after its launch! :p

Cool thanks.
I read about the Marias Pass "Plus" update (whenever it comes out) that if it's snowing than you would get wheel slip. Basically more prototypical of real life conditions. Not sure if this is an existing feature already in Trainz, something on the wish list or what.
Another cool thing, but don't see how they could possibly do it, would be for the snow to accumulate. That would be cool.
But hey, beggers can't be choosers and this is WAY better then PONG when I was growing up.
