Hog Map Maker Here

This map is done! Look for a PM.

Great! thank you very much but my PM System doesn't seem to work for reciving mail. If you could email it to me direct that would be great! Thanks again! I can send you a PM of my email I dont know if you will receive it but its worth a shot! Keep up the great work on your route you are building. Looks good!

EDIT: Try sending PM again. Reset some options for my PM-ing system.

Yeah I'm up to SP3, i figured SP4 looked like it caused more problems then solved. I just went into the config file and changed the build number.
If you could lower the entire route by 1000m and send me the links again that would be great and it would mean i'd be able to lay tracks over the summit.

This route has been lowered by 1000m. Look for PM.

I just wanted to thank you for your great work !

As Fishlipsatwork is no longer producing more of his hundereds of great DEM's, your hard work is greatly appreciated ! A million fold !

I have already gotten the opinion of LWVRR about this topic.

From others, please: What would happen if you merged 6 Huge DEM's, to make a monstrosity of 80,000 to 150,000 baseboards ?

Would Trainz lag so bad, or the route would stall, or would ones PC run out of resources or disk space ?

This is only my opinion, but don't bother. Even if you have a super computer from NASA you would never have the time to finish anything of that size completely, and thats staying motivated all the time. I've been working on the 50km of the Pittsburgh line for a few months now and put 100's of hours into it and I can say Ihave barely scratched the surface...
But then again I'm just some kid, and if thats what u wanna do then there is no-one stopping you from trying:) How much trackage is 150,000 baseboards?

Thanks I got it, but I'm still having the problems with getting the route into '09, it just doesn't like it...
I've even tried the route in my unregistered TS2010 and the same build number error comes up and it doesnt let me get on to it. If i change the build number the error goes away and lets me view the route in surveyor but it doesnt show a single baseboard and is just open sky.
Does the route work for you?

I got rid of the darkness problem by pressing the reset colours button:) So i have somehow managed to get the unlowered one to work, however not the latest one

I suggest that is the major difference I have noticed between most of the Trainzers I have heard from on the forums when the topic comes up and model railroaders: the drive to finish. Almost all of the model railroaders I associated with never used the f-word ("finish"). The most highly prized layout projects were the ones that had nearly unlimited possibilities for either expansion, modification, or both. I guess I have carried that mind set over to virtual railroading. Of course, I'm not suggesting that all Trainzers are of the "get it finished" philosophy, e.g., SirGibby and the Murchison layout.

Please, others way in with comments. It would be interesting to read them, I think.

I've been working on the Laurel Line for a long time...I don't think I'll ever finish it. And it's only 19 miles long!

I often thought about making something smaller. Something I can spend more time playing on then just building.

You must be more of a perfectionist, than me ! :hehe:

I have noticed that your route is interesting as an interurban trolley line, that also transported freight ... Have fun bulding it.

My Horseshoe route has been a total lengthly arduious chore ! But well worth it.

I have several huge DEM maps on my computer that has about 120,000 base boards on it and I am still adding on to it. It dosen't lag or crash the computer. I would almost call it a super computer, but it is not from NASA though.

I'd like to request the Southern Railway (CNO&TP) line, originally called the Cincinnati Southern (ahem, thus my username) from Cincinnati, OH south to Walton, KY (end of the commuter district that operated until WWI) and the hillier portion between Danville, KY and Harriman Jct., TN.

I've already got the portion from Danville north to Lexington, KY. And my previous efforts doing all of the terrain by hand on the portions mentioned above are taking far too long.

Thank you,

These two are done...Look for the PM's with the download links.

I just completed a hog map of Ogden/Salt Lake City, UT. PM me and I'll send you the download link if you want it.

I think this way as well as a former model railroader. My route will never be "finished". All the track, in its current incarnation, will end up being placed along with the cities and towns, but the overall tweaking and landscaping will be improved and changed as time goes on.

I have found that as I improved my skills, I've gone back to redo sections I thought were well done before. This must be the perfectionist in me, but I also found that by going back to the older sections and fixing them, I've been able to make even the older sections consistent with the rest of the route.

Where is Slateford?

I think that's just south of East Stroudsberg on the former Lehigh Valley Line. I can't remember if the line still exists. I'll have to look at some maps and find out. I haven't been in that area in over 25 years or more.

Ah ok, I'll have to look into that.
