Hog Map Maker Here

I'm looking to sharpen my skills in the Hog map making process. I'm willing to make a map of any rail line, anywhere in the US. All you have to do is ask.

Could you do the SP San Joaquin Valley Division, from Roseville, CA to Fresno, CA, including the Westside Line from Tracy down to Mendota / Firebaugh? Also, the former Ione Branch from Galt to Ione, CA, the Kentuckyhouse Branch from Lodi to Kentuckyhouse, and finally the Oakdale Branch from Stockton, CA to Oakdale, CA.

Not sure how much of the original SP trackage will still show on Tigerdata, but I believe the UP still uses most of the SP Valley mainline, at least from Lathrop south to Fresno.

Probably a bit more than you were thinking someone was going to ask, but I would be seriously interested if you are up for it. :D

Kind regards,
MC

I'm up for it, but lets take it one at a time. It should be a good challenge since I don't know about any railroads west of Pennsylvania!

I'll look into the first railroad you mentioned.

Heheheh... no problem. All the branch lines I mentioned came off the SP Valley (or Fresno, as it was often called) Line. Galt, Lodi, Stockton are all cities / yards on the mainline.

I will be honest; whatever you feel like taking on would be greatly appreciated. As you said, the branch lines can always be added on later, I'm sure.

Regards,
MC

How about: Harrisburg (Marysville) to Huntingdon (Warriors Ridge) ...

Then We would have a progrssive 3 route DEM, from:
Reading to Harrisburg ... Dermmy
Harrisburg to Huntingdon ... not made
Huntingdon / Johnstown ... Jerker

the latter mentioned, I am presently working on.

I'll make that one...HBG to Huntington. :)

@cascaderailroad-This map is almost done and will be ready in a little while. I'll send you a PM when done.

@Mchawkman- Your map is giving me some problems...It's too big. I'm still looking into other options. I might have to send you multiple maps.

Please no rush ... I have the rest of my life to finish the Huntingdon to Johnstown route DEM by Jerker (which is hugely huger than huge) and will be highly detailed. :hehe:

The smaller Fishlipsatwork DEM Altoona to Johnstown (which is smaller for low end PC's) is moving along quickly though, and is geared towards railfaning, by simply hitting "Drive" for 50+ constantly running AI Trainz.

This must be a first: a content creator asking to be stoned to death with requests. :hehe: OK, I'll add mine. I would really like to see a map of the SP San Francisco Peninsula line from and including San Jose to and including Brisbane (no, not Australia, just south of SF), with at least 4 baseboards to each side of the RR.

In the interests of full disclosure, Tokkyu already did one, but trimmed it to about 2 baseboards and lost all of the terrain on the Peninsula, which doesn't suit my needs. I need the terrain to keep the feel of a RR line running along a chain of mountains, as it does IRL.

Can you do it?

Also, are you planning to put these on the DLS? I hope so because while Fishlipsatwork and Schmooz, among others, have done many, there are still many to do. Thank you for your effort.

Bernie

Hi Bernie, I took the info down and yes, I can do it. It is on my list.
As far as uploading the maps to the Download Station...If I end up making many maps, I will.

I'd like to have the Chicago & Northwestern from Boone, Iowa to Omaha Nebraska.

And I hope this does not bring the development of the Laural Line to a halt !!

Mt Washington-Cog Railway, and the lost US treasure-Mt Lowe Railway

BTW: Is there any way to backdate a blank DEM route created for 09, so that it shows up in TRS2006 ? The "No Map Selected" page shows up in surveyor.

I have been told that the layers in 09, make this impossible for backdating into 06 ?

Layers didn't come about until 10, however 09 can read 10 routes, as long as they are done right in 10:o . But from there no route can be backdated, which is what a dem is.

To Dap and Gary6204, I'm looking into making your routes.

Cascaderailroad-I might of found a solution to your problem. Stand by for a PM.

I've been working on this route and the bad news is it's just too darn big. I'm getting "Not enough memeory" error messages in Microdem. Is there anybody out there that knows away around this problem?

If you could do the old B&O mainline (now CSXT) from Baltimore Camden Station to Ellicott City, MD (including the B&O RR museum), that would be nice. But save me till last because I'm working on other stuff right now and it'll be a while before I get to it. Thanks for this!:D

Hello LWVRR,

Could you do the Las Vegas & Tonopah Railroad Co and the Tonopah & Tidewater Railroad for me? I have several old maps if you need them, PM me or reply on your forum page.

Thanks

I'll need starting and ending point of the railroad. If the railroad is very old it may not be showing with the current available data.
