High Bridges

Hi;
I have several deep gorges to bridge, but am unable to find bridges with piers tall enough to reach the ground from these bridges, so the piers just hang there in mid-air.
What I need is a pier spline, or perhaps if I could add attachment points to some of the existing piers so that I can stack them? How difficult would it be to do this?
I like the stone piers better than steel or concrete, but steel would do if that's all I can get.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

CP

I made a 24 story tall trestle as a spline. Think that's around 300 feet.

Don't think of my kits are tall enough.

Ben, I was just trying to find a dependency for that trestle with no luck.. Where may I find kuid:3124060:38009? Thanks for all your items.

A couple of ideas

.
You could raise the terrain up to each of the support piers if it’s a short distance.

However, if the space is higher you can add single object support piers under each of the dangling pieces of stonework. The FMA series are good for this trick.

Here’s an example of both techniques using FMA high divider w 8 <kuid:52:28113>; (there are several other sizes). They are on the DLS, and quite tall; 90% of the two FMA divider objects in this image are buried under one of samplaire’s excellent bridges!

Hi Stouthm:

That appears to be a big fat typo on my part. It should be 2 ft ga rail only track. Like you I can't find it either.

I'd suggest changing it to 2:173173:20869:127 which is a different 2 ft a rail only track.

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the FMA high dividers - look great! What route is that image from? It is gorgeous! I only wish I could create scenery like that. It's nice to know that I actually could if I practiced enough - since we are all using the same tools (TS12 I assume).
What is the name/kuid for that arch bridge? I see lots of assets in DLS by samplaire - I have most of the sams track, maybe I have the bridges as well, just don't know what to search for.

Hi CP.

The route is one of my works in progress (like most!) which I've yet to complete. It’s made in an older version. I don’t have TS12.

The samplaire bridge is SAM VS Viaduct 6.6m v6 H20m <kuid:132952:101024> available on the DLS for TS2009+, or his site here. There are separate versions of that viaduct (TRS2004/6 and TR2009+) on that page, so check that you are selecting the correct one.

I love samplaire’s assets and particularly like the brilliant use of textures and shading. His many other assets are exceptionally good and amongst the very best available. His site is well worth browsing for a very diverse selection which will probably enhance any route.

Peter is correct. However I checked the stringer spacing (longitudinal beams under the rails) and they would be ok for a 2 foot gauge trestle as well.

You'll find several stone and concrete spline object piers that are 236 ft high, on my website. Click on my sig and go to "My Content".
