I've been a member of the Trainz Community for close to 5 years. I have TRS04 and TRS06. Usually I check the forums to solve any problems arising from these programs. I have never used the Helpdesk....................until last week.
I was havig a problem because the 100mb download quota wouldn't reset. I contacted the Helpdesk............and to my surprise I got a timely response.....and the fix was?????????????
Turn off your Windows Firewall, dummy.......!!!!!!!
Now, I know that's a remedy almost any experienced Trainzer could have solved, through the forums.......(I asked, but you didn't, even did a forum search....). So Helpdesk did it for you........
Considering the amount of Helpdesk bashing in these forums, I have to say on the contrary, Helpdesk was timley, courteous and............had the right solution. Thank you Mr. Auran and Helpdesk.....
Regards,

A better thought in my opinion is to read the 'Read Me' in your Trainz program . It tells you what Trainz programs you must allow through your firewalls !

TRS06 & CMP has been on my computer for the better part of three years........alowing for crashes and reinstalls. Do you read the 'read me' each time you reinstall a program?
And I got an excuse, too,............I'm over 30..........my memory ain't what it used to be........who remembers that stuff after 3 years??????
And I got 'nother excuse, too.......It wasn't me who turned on the Windows firewall.
And I got 'nother excuse after that......I'm so far over 30 that I can't see that little white X in the red background on the firewall icon.......
So why do I read the Forums, which loads slow as molasses in a New England winter...........so you can tell me to read a 'read me' which I read 3 years ago and don't care to read again.....
In that case the Forums aren't worth the wait. I'll just go to Helpdesk........after I wait for Forums to load up.....
Regards,:o

Sorry I made the suggestion .
Your excuses and remedies seem quite fair enough .
