hi! I have a problem with the game apperently there is something wrong with the head lights (it doesn't flash like it is supposed to.) can someone tell me how I fix this problem or if this feature EVEN is available for TRAINZ 2009

thanks a lot

Torben Meyer

P.S I was in the AVSIM forum there I needed to tell my name!

Hi,

Each loco is different so one may work and another might not.

To toggle a loco's headlight on/off either click the appropriate icon or press the L key. Apologies if you've already discovered that.

At night headlights should shine brightly and also illuminate the track and ground ahead. During the day they may be far less obvious. AFAIK they never flash.

Some rolling stock also has ditch lights (a bit like sidelights on a car).

Rear headlights on locos and tenders rarely work in Trainz.

If there's a vehicle coupled in front of a loco, its headlight is disabled.

Let us know if no headlights work even at night, or if there's a problem with a specific loco then tell us what it is, preferably with its kuid. Somebody might have an answer.

HTH, John

EDIT: There's no need to put your real name on this forum unless you want to.

what about american diesel locos like SD 38-2 GP40s etc.? I know they flash in real life but in trainz 2009? The lights do work but they don't flash like for example when one light goes off the other one goes on and vise versa

thanks

Torben Meyer

P.S some locos like the burlington northern and the ej&e, which I downloaded at the download station only have one light working instead of three.

Very sorry, I don't know and I'll have to leave it to someone more knowledgeable to answer that one.

try the semi-colon key [;] or maybe its [ctrl]+[;]

Only new engines (models, not actual engine) have the ability of working ditchlights as this option wasn't available for pre TRS06 (maybe 09) models.
