Help with screen size changing

I did the digital download and installed TS2010. I then installed the two service packs. The first one installed without any problem. The second service pack installed half the files and the other half said that the database for this file was missing. Started the program and it showed build 42422.
When I get into the program everything worked fine for the first couple of minutes and then the screen went from full size down to half the size and the boxes to do things were all out of wack and I have to close and reopen only to do this again and again. My video card is a Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 with 826mb and 4 gigs memory on the main computer.
Has anyone encountered this situation and if so what is the solution.

The going advice is to edit Trainzoptions.txt in your TS2010 directory) and add:

-width={desired horizontal resolutions}
-height={desired vertical resolution}

That works for many people. Unfortunately, even this didn't help me. A workaround is to set your video resolution (either in Control Panel or using your video card manager) to the same resolution for which TS2010 has been set.

Ok I will try and change the video resolution for both TS2010 and my video card. Do you know what or where to fing the video resolution.

Resolved the conflict. OpenGL was selected instead of DirectX, and now the game is working fine. Thanks for the help.
