Help with getting rid of foreign content in 2009

I agree it would be so nice to simply have just UK steam items. I'm certain it would be faster and I wouldn't have to search through all those foreign diesels.

Im sick of search though all of the foreign trains and cars in trainz 2009. Can somebody help me get rid of them??:confused::confused::confused:

If you're talking about going through the list in Surveyor simply go into Railyard and select those that you like as Favourites. You only need do that once.

You can then select just those when you list them in the rolling stock flyout by toggling the light in the Train selection box.

BTW, you don't indicate on your details which country you are from. I'm guessing though that rolling stock from your country is foreign to a lot of us!

Update: I've just seen some other replies. I hadn't realised that you are a USA "bricks on wheels" fan.

Amused to see that the original poster's avatar is from a railroad which, for most of its existence, was "foreign owned" (Soo was largely owned by Canadian Pacific), and which has since been absorbed into the parent.

There is some really nice "foreign" content out there. I guess we're all foreign if we live someplace else than others. :)

Cheers

I really must defend the Rich Man. Although I am not rich myself, and therefore am overcome with class envy, I can see that his intention is not to be "racist" or to disregard the offerings of those from other nations. He may be "Nationalistic", but he only wants to pare down his menu to content used in the US, in which he is comfortable and interested. We can all understand that, can we not?
Of course, since he is "rich" by his own admission, I propose we tax him until he is poor again, and then waste the money on fancy cars, mansions and lobsters. Who's with me?

You probably know my opinion over the rich people as I told in the other threads... It was terrible but, let's not start this again.

Maybe it isn't racist, but disregard a little. It doesn't matter for me if other people screw up their trains menu, but I sure think it's strange. I would hate if Trainz only had Russian content for example, as I like to drive in different countries to. I drive in Russia in real life so it's not so interesting to drive in Russia in a simulator. Same should apply to the US.

But reason I commented is because many young US people (but not all of them as some are very nice) are ultra patriotic, thinks their country is the best and the rest of the world is crap, and yeah... Their behaviour... A Russian cannot behave like that.

I'm not saying that the poster of this thread are like them, it's just a bet as he wanted to get rid of anything not US. And yes, I'm with you. the tax there burn so many people out :)

If there one thing I like about the US, then it's this Steam Locomotive from Penssylvania, very good detailed (nearly as good if not the same level as the Russian content)

There are other sides to this argument, for instance if you are making a layout for a certain country you don't want a load of foreign stuff to trip you up.
I find the best thing is to have more than one program of TR09/10/12 whatever, one for the world, one for your country, and one that has DLS only items, for if you want to publish a route on the DLS.

Excuse my laxity in entering the fray; I spent the morning digging up a few gold paving stones to meet end of month commitments!
Has it occured to anyone that 'Richman's' moniker may allude to more humble meanings.................
One can be 'spiritually' rich................
Or. posess a fine constitution and good health..................
Or even be blessed with a fine lass for mate and several beautiful children................
And, by the way, his profile doesn't list a country.
He could be a Somalian pirate trolling for Red Sea shipping!

G'Day,

Excellent suggestion.

Peronally, I have disabled most "foreign" content, because it becomes a bit tedious and very time consuming when trying to find an asset amomg thousands in the list while using a magnifying glass.

Have a good one,
E.C.

Oh I thought it was like stamps, if it doesn't have a country name on it it must be English hence my reference to UK stuff. It's nice to see Somalians' doing something in their space time whilst waiting forth next container ship to arrive.

Since everything else is foreign, the Disable and Rating methods in CM can keep the selections down to a manageable level. Disable is the more enduring because you have to go back in CM to undo it if you change your mid. Tagging assets with a Rating means you can view different selections while in Surveyor. It's a bit tedious to set up the first time but once done, very easy to use.

We should have choice in what we have show in the game.
There should be the option to remove unwanted material from thegame, not just to disable it.
Because the excess remains in the system the computer must handle it in some way therefore affecting the operation of the game.
The game is international and gives us a wide choice of content, but it would be nice to be able to "personalise" the material.
Just my 2 cents worth,
cheers,
Mike

John, outside of the Beatles and Maggie Thatcher, you still my favorite Englishman!
