Help with downloading

Evening Gentlemen,

I am new the forum and would like to say Hi.

I purchased the Trainz2010 EE, the online version.

I open the first window sent by the company to start downloading process. Click on the Downloading Here Button. It asks for my FTP Username and password. I type in both, but does not recognize the password sent by the company for the product.

So I go to the Alternate Download Link. Agree to the licensing agreement and such. I ask it down load and create desktop shortcut and then it asks for the CD. I didn't purchase the CD, I purchased the online download.

So what is up with these? I can't find a phone number to call Auran Game either. And before any jumps down my throat that I didn't read this or that, I have searched this sight up and down and didn't see a threat on this.

Any suggestions.

Hi Chessie,

The logon in CM3.2 (and previous) is a little bit differnet form most other systems - I've become used to it, but it can be a difficulty:-

When you install TRainz, the install process asks fort he "CD Key" - that's the long number in 4 character groups.

You will also need to join "Planet Auran" with a username and password (I'm guessing you've done that).

Now, start CM3.2, and in the settings, enter your Planet Auran username and the Panet Auran password.

The Auran database will link your identity with the CD key (which is stored in the Auran system) and this lets you into the DLS...
(you do need to register your CD Key - or serial number - with Planet Auran!)

There is no phone number for Auran - there is the Helpdesk tab at the top of the page - that's the only way of contacting the helpdesk (other than sanil mail).

Once the CM3 contacts the DLS, it should update the index it holds - this may take a bit of time...

Let us know how you get on,

Colin

Thanks for the reply,

However, I'm not seeing what you're seeing. What is the CM3.2?

I've gone into the Auran site (yes I am registered and such), I have the serial number registered. But it does not link this to the CD key.

I think it would have been easier to get the CD itself in the mail and download manually than this way. You would think for a product like this they would make it simple insteading of going through a maze to get from point A to point B.

Unless it's staring at me in the face (which is possible), I'm not seeing a key you mentioned.

I did send a notice to the Helpdesk and waiting to see what they say.

Thanks again. Any further help would be appreciated.
