Hello. First of all, I hope that I'm posting this in the right section. If not, please forgive me.
Anyway, I'm trying to download seamless data from the USGS for creating my route in Trainz. Of course, I know how to create DEMs using the MicroDEM to HOG to Trainz procedure. Normally, I would get the DEM "quads" from Geocomm. The problem with this method is that merging the quads in MicroDEM creates unsightly joints and are sometimes even off by a few hundred feet. So I decided to try using seamless data from the USGS and it looks to be exactly what I needed...only to find that the file size is WAY too big! Then I realized that it downloads it in these huge 8x8 "cells" even when selecting individual quads, which is way more than what I need.
What I would like to know is if it's possible to download seamless data in smaller quads directly off the USGS server. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
