Help with Download Station

I have installed Trainz2010 on my home computer but I don't have highspeed to use the download station. I want to download from the office and then transfer them into my installed instance at home. Can someone tell me where these files normally download to, and if I download from the office, what is the process to install them at home once I transfer the files??

Any help is appreciated, or point me in the direction of existing tutorials on this.

Thanks!! J

Easy answer is to use the ftp links and save them wherever you want (probably on a USB memory stick).

I wouldn't bother trying to install and use CM3.2 on your office computer, for a start 2010 stores it in a way that is annoying/difficult to extract to take to another computer, secondly unless its your own business, IT or someone is likely to object. FTP is much easier in that regard.

As for what you need to do, the easiest way is just to hit 'ftp link' on the DLS and tell your browser where to save it. Using 'Trainz Downloader Pro' would probably make things slightly easier, and will automate a lot of the dependancy grabbing.

You'll still likely have to download the occasional dependancy at home, but it should be a minimal amount, and probably bearable over dialup.

Download Station - transfer files

Thanks! I have downloaded a lot fo content and now I am looking to understand how to get it into my installation of the sw at home?? Do these files need to placed in a specific directory to work? How does the sw differentiate between objects (bldgs, splines, people, etc) or does it all go into one bucket?

thanks. J

Download Station - Dependencies

Can you explain dependencies? I downloaded the files I wanted and all of the dependencies -- do I need to do anything to ensure the dependencies work with the objects I want to use??

you can put them into individual folders if you want to keep track of things, but you can put them all in just one folder (like Trainz Downloads). When home, plug in your USB flash drive, open CMP and go to File/Import CDPs and direct it to the folder on your flash drive. (Now this is for 2006, am I wrong to assume 2010 has its own annoying CMP?). CMP will install these files and automatically put them into whatever category the creator assigned to the asset.

Can't find assets imported through CMP

I successfully imported all of the assets I downloaded yesterday. When I went to look for them in the router editor, none were visible. I went back to CMP and r-clicked to find edit>commit, but all commit options are greyed out. It looks like all of these adds were committed already, but none are showing up. Please help?!
