here is the problem. one my textures I made for my frisco 1522 model is not appearing to the trainz database but yet it shows in ccp. when I commit the model I get this error. Texture 'frisco_body\frisco-coonskin.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'frisco_body\frisco_body.im'. The texture and texture.txt files are in the folder but it keeps giving me this error. i would normally not have this problem so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks.

Check to see if it has a word spelled different, as when I was fixing MSTNoodle's models, Donald and Douglas had 2 text files spelled different then what they should of been spelled for the mesh to find them. Hope this helps you out!

Never seen anything with .texture and texture.txt files. Texture files are files done in Gmax or Blender which ever you are using and do not need texture.txt files.
Only .tga or .bmp files need a texture.txt file to address them.

the texture files are .bmp however the files were spelled right so I just stripped the engine of the textures

Well that is not what you said in your first post. This is not a .bmp file 'frisco_body\frisco-coonskin.texture' However stripping textures could fix it.

A bit of info here - a .texture file is produced on commit from the .jpg/.bmp/.tga file and it's associated .texture.txt file.

Hi Shane,

That may be but how come when I open an item for edit it still has .tga files and it's associated texture.txt files? I have been led to believe .texture files are compiled.

The reason that happens is the .texture files are normally also in that folder at the same time, or are converted back into the image/.texture.txt combo when the asset is opened for edit. Have a look in the asset's folder under UserData/Local or UserData/Original to see what I mean regarding the .texture files.

Hmmmm. My ISP seems to be going down for about 15min. every time there is a bit of a shake.

Hi Shane,

Yes some of them have but I can't tell which I have edited in the userdata\original folder.

Never mind, I can still do most updates I want to do.

Cheers,
Bill

The Userdata/original folder contains unmodified assets downloaded from the Download Station - the Userdata/local folder contains the modified assets.
