Help with a brake question

Hello everyone,

Sorta new here to the forums. Need some help with a question, which is bother me on a route.
I doing the Avery-Drexel, Northern Pacific lookout pass route. I got to Mullan warehouse to deliver my goods.
Every time i disconnected from my double locos, my freight cars just started to roll down the grade (-1.24%). Are there separate brakes to
set on the freight cars to set, to prevent this from happening? No matter where i stopped my train in the siding, it just keeped rolling down the grade.

if that happens then click on the consist and press "A" on the keyboard

Apply the train brake before you uncouple.:wave:

I once clicked on a flat car and then uncoupled. (It was on a narrow gauge route up in the mountains) And boy that was a roller coaster ride down the mountain. lol:hehe:
