Help. Still cant post properly on this site/forum ---

Hi.

Its now over a week now since I bought Trainz and signed up to this useful
website and forums. But or some odd reason I can only post to just a few
limited forums on this site, and I cant post at all to the Screenshots forum.
When I try to, I get an error message (copy enclosed).

I have ensured that my Trainz serial number is registered with this site.
In addition I also sent a pm message to the WebMaster over a week
ago about this problem, but got no response.

If anyone has any suggestions on this problem, I'd sure appreciate it.

TinTrain, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I seem to be getting the same thing, I can't post in the Suggestions forum. Perhaps you have to post a certain number of times before the other forums are unlocked? :confused:
 
Guys send a messege to helpdesk as they are the ones who can fix this problem.

Be warned you won't get a response until Auran have returned next year.

i have the same problem, only thing is when I asked the help desk whats wrong, he chugged around the issue then said he get back to me.

I also sent a message to the HelpDesk over a week ago, but so far Ive got no response.

Isnt this just the weirdest thing? ...You join a website forum only to discover you cant post to certain forums within that community because you dont have enough 'privelages'.

I am now in the odd position of having got someone else to kindly post
a message for me on the screenshots forum, but am now unable to reply
to those messages on my own thread. Access denied.

I wonder if I'm being denied access in this way because I only have Trainz 2004 and hence I'm not rated worthy enough by Auran to be able to post screenshots etc?

I hope someone can sort out this bizzare and time-consumming situation -
on an otherwise good and useful forum.

The points in the popup box are a standard feature if you are not logged in although you obviously are as otherwise you would be unable to post here or indeed edit your own post

The items raised in the popup regarding privileges refers to use of these particular areas by administrators and moderators only in most cases and has no bearing on your version of Trainz or you ability to post

Unfortunately as Dave says: Be warned you won't get a response from the helpdesk until Auran staff have returned and that won’t be till next year.

Be sure you use the link Dave provided above to report to helpdesk as this is the only avenue available to you or any other member

To post in the Suggestions forum, you can do so BUT the post will be viewed and/or edited by a moderator FIRST before the post will appear there. As Lance Jago's sticky there is not to clear on this, I hope he will alter this when he gets back from his holidays. This only applies to the Suggestions forum, all others AFAIK are not affected by this "ban" of posting straight away. No logic behind this, me thinks.

So much for "improvements" to this forum :mad:

Btw, when will we get a "general" forum back??? Wasn't there a sticky mentioning something about it? I guess, the answer will be as always:

Just a fleeting thought on this...

Do the people here that are having issues with posting have their serial numbers for their copies of Trainz registered in their Planet Auran profiles? Not 100% sure if having a registered copy of Trainz is linked to forum access but it could be something that we are overlooking here. Some forums may need a user to have a registered copy of the software to be able to access them.

The forum has been stated to be is a work in progress, but I would suggest that the other forums that used to exist have been canned for good.

It looks like the forums are here to support Trainz, the whole Trainz and nothing but the Trainz.

Whether that is good or bad depends on what you want out of the forum in the first place.

To return to the original query, perhaps the primary navigation menu should include a link to the helpdesk.

does show up when I click on the website 'serial' tab.

Heres another odd thing. When I tried to download some freeware from the download section of Auran last week, I got a message saying I didnt have enough privelages to do so (or words to that effect).

I'm having the same problem.
I've sent a mail to helpdesk but no reply.
Yes, I have registered my serial number.

What now?
 
Not sure, just checked what I did and I used the contact link at the bottom to the forum admin and I did so sometime last week.
Might not have been the right way to go about it but...

Anyway, if someone can fix it I would be most grateful. :)

im having the same trouble i have registerd my serial and i sent a message to help desk over 2 weeks ago i got a reply from them stating they had forwarded it to the administrator 2 weeks ago still im not allowed to post there:mad:
 
Yeah, I posted because I searched first and found this from someone else with the same problem:
"I got a message a few days ago saying that my message was passed on to a moderator, because the helpdesk can't fix it."
Sure, I can contact helpdesk but it would be nice if a mod could handle it directly without a two week detour.
 
Same problem as well, sent message (not by e-mail of course) to helpdesk about a month ago, received a reply but still can only post in this and the regional forum sections.
