Help needed for newbie? Again :)

Having Purchased trainz 2006/2004/utc I am having such a great time, downloading all the great stuff that you guys have placed in the download station. thank you
I have a question, Some or the cars that I have downloaded can been used as part of the normal traffic flow, police, fire etc,
Can someone please tell me how to do this, in Very Very simply terms,

This thread http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=9886 should give you some help. I'm afraid it's not totally simple to do, but it's the kind of thing you get used to if you want to make the most of Trainz. As an example, I created the region 134105:1037 for one of my routes. Any new route created with this region will now use my choice of carz. You are free to make your own version of this by changing the kuid numbers of the cars referenced.

First get the kuid numbers of the cars etc you want to use and make a note of them.
Second open the maps config file and add the lines starting at
Car0 kuid (use the kuid of the car you want)
Car1 kuid (use the kuid of the next car you want)
Keep doing this for each car you want to use. increase the car0 by one on each row.
