Help - my baseboard is tearing!

Ambling on the slow line
I'm seeing this kind of thing arise on my Lavenham route:

 Any ideas about what it means? Should I be worried?

The only time Iv'e seen it in TS12 is on large or detailed routes, putting a significant load the gpu and or cpu. In my case I had to delete about a hundred base boards. I model terrain w/TransDem, and have a habbit of generating routes with too many boards; trimming later.
After I trimmed back the extraneous boards, I packed the route in a cdp, deleted the route in Surveror, and then reinstalled it via the CMP. That seemed to solve the problem pretty much. The route will still drop a tile occasionally, but toggling the Grid button on and off seems to solve it.
Another ploblem is distorting tiles when moving objects around. This is an issue with mouse sensitivity, where the mouse may grab a tile and displace it. Setting the mouse sesivity way down should correct this.

I've had this happen a lot..Like steamboating says..I always go to my options in surveyor to see if there are any of the sliders I can cut back..Also I change periodicly from Open GL to Direct X..

Thanks chaps for the response. This is a route make in TransDEM and it utilised a lot of UTM tiles. I'm now done with them and they're deleted. I'm a bit concerned with GPU overheating at the moment as my set-up is encased in dust :o so I must get on and open up the case and do some dusting!

I have a question myself? Are you doing this route in TS12? If swo, does the map grid lines still come out fuzzy when using UTM tiles?

 Not quite sure what you mean. I am doing this route in TS12. However, it was actually created in TC3 and then taking into TS12 when I upgraded to that version. I have crated TransDEM routes in TS12 though and I don't think I've seen any fuzzy grid lines. The big problem is that you can't seen UTM tiles properlyin TS12 because of the 5m grid. :(

Certainly a strange one - I quite frequently get sections of terrain or map overlay disappear from tiles or sections of tiles when working on a route (a small dab of terrain paint brings it back) and on a large route Surveyor deleted certain textures from part of a route. However nothing like that which is illustrated. Can only assume it is video/memory related to the size of the route being worked on or data cached in memory etc.
