Help me fix a faulty problem.

Hi, I'm new here and this my first time making a comment on Trainz Discussion Forum, and I need help.

I've got a Shunter M 50371 <kuid:44797:50371> that goes with an NYC 0-6-0 locomotive, and it has a faulty error.

Here are the list what the faulty error looks like:

1. This asset uses an obsolete trainz-build number. Trainz-build numbers below 2.7 are no longer supported.

2. Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh.

3. Same word: Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh.

4: The faulty error one, and this one is very imported to fix it, take a good look: Unable to load mesh file: 'shunter_m_50371_shadow/shunter_m_50371_shadow.pm'

5. Required container 'thumbnails' is missing.

6. Missing or invalid selection for tag 'category-region' in 'bogey'.

I simply don't know how to fix it. Can one of you write an instruction how to fix this faulty error for Shunter M 50371 <kuid:44797:50371>? That way the faulty error thing can disappear and Shunter M 50371 for NYC 0-6-0 locomotive, and the rest of the 0-6-0 locomotives will work.

Thank you, and please reply to me.

Hi Jmdasilva

Welcome to the forums. I don't have the Mac version but I've just downloaded this asset into TS12 latest build and it doesn't show any errors and just two warnings which can be ignored until they become faults. The one that I've downloaded is kuid2:44797:50371:1 build 2.7 which would seem to be an update on the one that you have. I would check the DLS and see if you can find the updated version. When searching I typed in "shunter m".

Regards

Brian

I have that <KUID2:44797:50371:1>. But the problem is, the wheels spins on the tracks while the steam locomotive is not moving and there are two spikes sticking out of the end of the wheels. I don't know how to get rid of them. Does edit in finder could do the trick, if it is?

Google is your friend. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/archive/index.php/t-114782.html

'anim-loop-speed 1'. Delete this line
If there's an anim "whatever.kin" line, delete it too
Also make sure an animdist tag and value is present and the .kin file is called anim.kin.

there are two spikes sticking out of the end of the wheels. I don't know how to get rid of them.

Download an earlier version of the asset. Find the mesh file in .pm format. Use PEV's pm2im converter to create a new .im file, and replace the .im file already in the asset with the new one. Create a new shadow mesh for the asset using PEV's shadow maker.

Unfortunately, the original poster has the Mac version, so the PEV tools will not be available as they are not Mac compatible.

The instructions are the same whether OP does it for himself on his Windows machine, or his friend does it for him or he asks someone here to do it for him. There is no rule that says he has to try to do it on his own machine. The files can be transferred from MAC to PC. PEV tools are available for anyone to download for free.
