Help! it's all weird...

Whilst the information loss issue seems to have stopped happening on mine (apart from after a crash), I have found another pitfall when deleting assets.tdx (especially with TS2009 SP4): It will cause a full database repair when you next load Trainz.

To my understanding, assets.bku is a backup of assets.tdx.

correct Assets.bku is the backup file of tdx and when a repair is carried out it compares the tdx file with the bku files and restores faulty or missing assets from that file. That is why some assets seem to have reverted back after you altered any of them. When you delete these files trainz just updates the data base and not repair it, so is often quicker as it is not comparing the files.

That's very interesting. If you want to restore everything to original, You delete the BKu file. Is that what you are saying?
