Ok. I've got everything downloaded, all in one file and now I'm getting the message that it's corrupted. What I doing wrong here? I've looked at the links, and I don't understand them. If the files are corrupted, then what am I suppose to do now? I have not downloaded a free download manager because I don't know which is a good one to use, nor have I ever used one. On that note, I don't want to download something from the internet that I don't know anything about.

The error I received was

C:\Program Files(x86)\N3V Games\Trainz Simulator 12\Trainz.exe

An error occurred while trying to read the source file:
The source file is corrupted.

Click Retry to try, Ignore to skip this file(not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.

Just for fun Ignored it, and then I just receieved the same message over and over.

Can someone please help me? This is starting to get really frustrating as I'm sure you're all sick of seeing me post this.

I thought I was good on a computer and I got to this.

Thanks.

:(I'm certainly no expert and your likely to get some better advice shortly from one of the guru's.
Where did you get your copy of Trainz Simulator 12? Download (sounds like this is how you got your program) or DVD and from what vendor?
Did you do a disk cleanup and restart before starting installation with no other programs running?
Have you run a virus scan recently?
Do you have the required disk space available?
I know these seem like stupid questions but most likely anyone who has had this problem before would like to know where you started so they can eliminate some processes that could be the source of your problem.

Good luck, look forward to seeing you online soon.

Thanks for the reply.

Its a digital download copy. Purchased from auran.

I just purchased this computer, so a disk cleanup shouldn't be nessesary I don't think.

I didn't restart, but I will when I'm done replying to you.

Virus scan was done.

Plenty of space, 2 TB hard drive, 24 gigs of RAM

I did have other programs running. I'll keep them closed after my reboot.

And they're not stupid questions to me, I just want this game to get loaded on my PC.

I'll be looking for you once I get online :)

Did all that, same message comes up :(

I suggest you look at the files you downloaded a bit more closely - is one of them corrupted perhaps? The giveaway is if you right mouse click and choose "Properties", one file may show as having a filesize of "0 bytes" - if so, just delete it and download it again! One thing I have discovered over the years, is if you don't use a download manager, at least use Firefox to download from Auran. The Auran kit doesn't seem to like Internet Explorer very much!

Personally, I would uninstall Trainz, delete the installation file and download it again, using Firefox. If your system is 64-bit, ytou are better off choosing "Custom Install" and installing Trainz 12 in "C:/Program Files and NOT C:/Program Files (x86) which is the default. The (x86) folder is intended for programmes intended to run on a 32-bit platform. Trainz will run, but it runs a lot better if it's allowed to use 64-bit.

Hope you get this sorted.

Don't forget too, if you are running Windows Vista or 7, you need to right click your install file and choosing "Run As Administrator" - I don't know about Windows 8 as I am waiting for positive reports before I go and buy it - I have learned to be very cautious with new Windows releases, the marketing tends to be better than the product. Without allowing Administrator rights, files cannot be over-written or changed - something Trainz does rather a lot behind the scenes with a programme called "TADaemon.exe"
