Height Adj on roads

Koondawg

Always a WIP
Heres a screenie of something that is troubling me...the road/roads marked with a yellow V are height adjustable...whilst the ones marked in red are not....what gets me is that the spline/height adjustable road to get it to look correct needs to be lowered.

My question would be is there a way to edit the cfg of the non-adjustable roads through CMP say by explorer, perhaps adding a string?
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

On the other hand if anyone could point me to matches on the DLS that allow H/A please feel free to jump in.

The easiest solution is to lower the roads until they look right, then lower the terrain under the intersection until it's the same height. Set the dials on area and sensitivity to the lowest level, then tap on the grid point in the middle of the intersection until it's the right height.
I don't know of any that are height adjustable.

Like you're finding, intersections (really pretty much any fixed model to which splines can be connected) are not height-adjustable by default. However, you can override the default behavior just by adding the following line to the config files:

Code:
height-range -50,50

The two numbers indicate the lower and upper bounds of the height adjustment, in meters. So the line above says that the object can be moved anywhere from 50 meters below to 50 meters above the initial level (which is usually ground level).

Hope that helps!

on the subject of hight adjustment and roads, though not at the same time so i probably should have started two seperate threads about this, well, one, that fix for hight adjustment sounds like it ought to work, just read it so i haven't tried it yet, to make platfrom level people lowerable to sidwalks. hope so. i'm not talking about the comodity passengers, but some of the additional people assets that are nominally hight adjustable, but not lower then platform level, with would be nice to be able to use elsewhere.

my other, is a something i'd REALLY like to see, and that is sidewalk/pathway splines, with people moving on them, the same way there are cars moving on all those damd road splines. the same goes for a bikepath spline with moving bicyclists and bikerickshaws.

other then for pedestrians moving their legs, i don't see how that would be any different to do, then the way the animated road and highway splines are now.

these, to me, would be MORE usefull then all the blessed roads, as my 'fantasy' world i prefer to model is a possibly not too distant future when the automobile is no longer practical for most of us, and something like narrow gauge railways and simular guidway based systems, become among, if not THE, most practical and probable alternatives to sore feet.

Try my interstate system and tracks in street sets, I made them with supports below so they can be elevated as you need!
