There are many possibilities that can cause this error. Among them are:

Bad content in this particular area.

Bad memory - heats up and then fails.

Overall heat inside the computer case - dirty fans, clogged vents, etc.

Updated video drivers needed.

Updated motherboard drivers needed.

Please post the specifications of your PC - Motherboard, processor, video card, memory, etc.

This is really helpful for us to help you.

Have you tried the latest NVIDIA drivers? They make a big difference in the performance.

Also try DirectX versus Open/GL. This has fixed a multitude of errors such as this.

Try a memory test if this doesn't fix the errors. Memtest86 does a good job.

I had an issue where TRS2006 would crash after running for 30 minutes, but only in driver. I went through everything, changing interactive stations, deleting objects, thinking it was faulty content, etc. But in the end the problem turned out to be a bad DIMM.

Duncon,

If your game fails in the same place every time then there is something wrong with the route at that particular spot or at that particular moment in time. I had a similar problem on my system where the game would crash at the same point all the time and I found that this was being caused by a steam loco on a different part of the route sounding it's whistle. The loco in question would bow steam from the whistle valve as the whistle was sounded and the error was being caused because the game was being told to show the graphic of the steam from the whistle but I was watching a diffeent loco at the time.

Is the route that you are having problems with built in or one of your own ? Remove all but one loco from the route and run it with ust that one. If the game crashes at the same point try again with a different loco. If the game still crashes then the fault is likely to be with an asset on that part of the route, and that assest is likely to have sound or animation associated with it (ie moving parts etc)

If you can find that asset and remove it you shoudl be able to enjoy your route without the crash!
