guess the LOCO game...

Well, there hadn't been any activity since Jan 30th so I ask if anyone was going to post a new picture and Toren Hynes did and now Hoborailcat has till Thursday to post.

What is the official name of this engine?

The current model, rebuilder and rebuilt date is correct but the original model, builder, build date is incorrect.

Umm, no, pretty sure it was an ALCo...

Check out those jacking pads and handrails, not to mention the identical frame length:

N&W never had any diesels besides ALCos GEs, EMDs, and F-Ms (and a couple re-engined AS16s off of NKP- which this isn't). It doesn't have the frame of a F-M, so it has to be one of the others.

They built slugs from H24-66s (like the one Jadebullet posted), U30Bs (which retained their carbodies), RSD12s, a wrecked SDP45 (which did not have triple-clasp brakes like this), and a SD35 (which kept its frame length).

It would make sense to replace well-used Trimounts with newer trucks off of retired SD9s or SD35s. This would also make them consistent with most of the rest of NS's slug fleet.

So yes, RSD12 is correct.

Here is a unit while still on NW:

I am getting mixed messages as I read that they were old FM Trainmasters that were cut down into slugs. So they could have used multiple engine types and classified all of those boosters into the same class, so since multiple people are correct, then who ever wants to go next feel free to. (That is if you answer the question and got it correct and those people are, SimulatorTrain,HauntedClipp, and Jcurran.)
